Professional Development Fund

In 2003, UC-AFT negotiated the establishment of a pool of professional development funds to be used solely by members of Unit 18. UC contributes annually to the fund based on the full time equivalent of lecturers on each campus in 2003.  The UC-AFT local on each campus appoints members to a committee that writes the fund guidelines and an annual call for proposals.  The committee also awards the grants based on the merits of the proposals and availability of funds.  Each campus has a unique system and timeline.  Please check your local's website, or contact your field representative for campus specific information.
