“Give In or Fight Back? Colleges Are Torn on How to Respond to Trump,” NY Times (9/27/25)

Our efforts to fight back against the Trump administration’s attack on the UC made the Sunday edition of the New York Times!

While UC administrators are attempting to negotiate with the White House behind closed doors, UC-AFT joined with our fellow UC unions and Faculty Associations, which together represent over 100,000 UC workers, to defend our rights and our students.

As Peyrin Kao, a lecturer from UC Berkeley who has been on a hunger strike in solidarity with Gaza said in an interview, “If they’re willing to sell us out, what is stopping them from then going and selling anyone else out when it’s convenient?”
