UC-AFT Council Endorses Yes Vote on Prop 10 Affordable Housing Act

Share

Vote-Yes-on-10-Photo-voteyesonprop10..jpgThe UC-AFT Council voted to endorse Prop 10 at our meeting on Saturday, October 20. If passed, Prop 10 would repeal the Costa Hawkins Act, which currently prohibits localities from implementing local rent control measures.  Affordable housing and the high cost of living in UC communities are central issues for UC-AFT members.  In contract negotiations, we strive to increase salary scales to address the high cost of living, and we bargain for access to housing subsidy programs provided through the university.  Still, we know that the affordability crisis in California will not be solved at the bargaining table.

See below for the long list of Prop 10 endorsers.
