Urgent: May 1 Deadline to Request Reappointment (Please Read)

If you are newly hired, teaching in Spring 2024 on a one-year or one-term contract, you MUST submit a request for reappointment no later than May 1, 2024.

In December 2021, UC-AFT lecturers (also known as Unit 18 faculty) won the right to be considered for reappointment before external applicants. The right to be rehired before external candidates are considered is contingent upon you making the request to be rehired and submitting specific information.  

Don’t wait until the last second. UC-AFT strongly recommends that all pre-continuing lecturers complete their request now. To ensure you receive full consideration for reappointment, fill out this form, attach your C.V., and send it to your department chair (or equivalent).
